As much as I'll hate to see him go, Dallas Eakins would be an optimal choice for the Rangers. The Rags still have alot of young talent that could use a little further development at the NHL level that Torts didn't bring. Eakins is the coach to bring Callahan, Brassard, Kreider, and Stepan to the next level. Sather would be a fool not to hire him.

hopefully for the Rags Callahan and Hagelin are full recovered for training camp, that will be close

Andrew Gross ‏@AGrossRecord 3m
Timetable on Hagelin/Callahan recoveries is 4-5 months. So that would mean no training camp, possibly miss start of regular season.

and......Hagelin needs to be signed to new deal

Think a lot of people are warming to him. Only problem will be the need to have to win now with no beark-in or lead in time for him to get settled and acclimated. If he gets the job, he will need to hire some experienced assistants to help with the transition.

This is a big issue with a new coaching staff coming in

I think Lindy showed in Buffalo that he has no problem designing a system that lets his offensive horses run. If the Rangers are looking for someone to free the team up offensively, might be a good option. I'm sure a player like Hagelin would love to skate in a system designed to hit him with long stretch passes while he's in full stride.

Cally hurt his shoulder fighting Talbot way early in the season. Hags is a suprise, never looked hurt. But that time table sucks... Again, like all sports, injuries give players a chance to shine and take a rsoter spot by the balls. Fasth and Lindberg C'monnnnnnn down.

Just confirmed with the team that both Cally and Hagelin will need 4-5 months to recover...

I bet Hagelin is signed to a one year deal closer to start of season with this news

Not good. His style of play and his past shoulder injuries not a good mix

Why do you really think this effects his overall game once he recovers that we need to be that cautious?
